Our History and Team Members
Officially opened November 2011
Angkor Buddhist Organization (A.B.O) was established in 2011 by Venerables Bopha, Sayoeun, Sakhon, Savoeun, and friends of Wat Polanka temple in Siem Reap.
Bopha and Sayoeun laid aside their robes of 17 years to be of greater service to the school and community.
In 2021 a management decision was made to relocate ABO school back to Wat Polanka Temple and offer the same model of education to the students in this area.
ABO is a government licensed NGO, and provides education and community development for the children of Slor Kram Commune. There is no government financial assistance or support and the school relies solely on donations and the work of volunteers.
We are committed to resolving the cycle of poverty by providing access to education for one of the poorer and vulnerable communities in Cambodia. Our focus is on education for children and support for disadvantaged students.
We believe that education is the key to providing a pathway towards personal and community development.
Since opening our doors we have grown and expanded. The photo you see to the left was the school premises up until 2018.

Mr. Bopha
Executive Director
Highly regarded and respected by community members, students, and staff alike, Bopha brings knowledge, wisdom, vision and leadership to Angkor Buddhist Organization (A.B.O).
Mr. Phalla
Education Officer
Recognizing the importance of education, we were thrilled when Phalla rejoined with Bopha to develop and grow the second A.B.O school. Phalla strives to bring meaningful and positive experiences for the students by supporting the teachers and guiding their development.

Since joining Angkor Buddhist Organization (A.B.O), Savon has brought passion and dedication every single day.
Mr Samnang
Project Officer
Samnang studied with Bopha and has brought hs wisdom and ideas to the second school of ABO - we are excited to have him part of the team

Kret is a young and enthusiastic teacher who joined ABO last year and brings her teaching knowledge to share with the students.
