Our History and Team Members
Officially opened November 2011
Angkor Buddhist Organization (A.B.O) was established in 2011 by Venerables Bopha, Sayoeun, Sakhon, Savoeun, and friends of Wat Polanka temple in Siem Reap.
Bopha and Sayoeun have since laid aside their robes of 17 years to be of greater service to the school and community.
ABO is a government licensed NGO, providing education and community development for the children of Kandek Commune. There is no government financial assistance or support and the school relies solely on donations and the work of volunteers.
We are committed to resolving the cycle of poverty by providing access to education for one of the poorer and vulnerable communities in Cambodia. Our focus is on education for children and support for disadvantaged students.
We believe that education is the key to providing a pathway towards personal and community development.
Since opening our doors we have grown and expanded. The photo you see to the left was the school premises up until 2018.
